A large thermal generation company that provides electricity to the entire Central Ukraine and part of the East purchased "virtual" coal during 2016-2017, the press office of the Office of Large Taxpayers reports.
It is noted that the enterprises purchased coal that do not actually extract, but form a tax credit through a number of fictitious firms. Because of this scheme, the state budget of Ukraine lost about 51 million UAH.
"Five counterparties are involved in this scheme, which are registered in different regions of Ukraine, but have a common feature of fictitiousness. These firms do not report, are not at their location and have a criminal tax history", the report said.
These operations with such counterparties are unrealistic and do not confirm the true source of primary coal origin, the department concluded.
