The power gaining Kashagan can become a good support for our economy – Khabar 24 reports.
Representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development noted it, finalizing the annual working results. According to analysts, if the extraction at the deposit increases to 300 ths barrels of oil per 24 hours, then Kazakhstan’s GDP can grow by half a percent. The current daily amount of extraction is 120 ths barrels. In general, EBRD management positively assesses the economic situation in the country: the projects, in which the bank invested money, are viable, they assure. Thus, the investments increase.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development plans to allocate from 800 million to 1 billion euros in Kazakhstan’s economy. This year, the amount of financial injections is expected to be up to 900 million euros, which will support more than 30 projects. They are mainly associated with development of agriculture, infrastructure, energy efficiency as well as small and medium business.

This year, we forecast that GDP growth will make up 0.7%; in the future year, we forecast that GDP growth will be up to 2.4%. EBRD views Kazakhstan’s economy and its stability very optimistically.
