NSA’s former contractor faces 200 years of imprisonment, Voice of America reports.
US Department of Justice pressed charges against the former contractor of the National Security Agency for “premeditated stealing of information, related to national defense”. The Ministry of Justice considers that the suspect stole and kept classified information in dangerous places within two decades.
The suspect, 52-years-old Harold Thomas Martin, was found guilty by federal jurors on Wednesday. The officials claim that the stealing of documents can be the largest theft of classified governmental information in US history.
20 charges, each of which can lead to 10 years of imprisonment, were pressed against Martin.
Thomas Martin was the employee of the government contractor Booz Allen Hamilton and was arrested in last August. He had access to top-secret information.
