US President Donald Trump is going to issue the executive order on conducting the review of the influence of steel import on the national security, the representatives of the presidential administration told Reuter agency, RIA News reports.
It is reported that Trump plans to sign the memorandum to one of the articles of the Trade Expansion Act dated 1962, which allows the President to impose restrictions on the import of commodities, based on national security requirements.
As one of the sources stated, the import of steel alloys, used during the armor production for ships and requiring the expert review on the territory of the country, can have potential consequences for its security.
However, it is noted that this Trump’s order is not aimed against any certain country, but it is oriented to the product.
Previously US President Donald Trump signed the order, called “Buy American, hire American”, aimed at supporting US workers and goods.
