U.S. Congress presented the Appropriation Act for 2018, approved by Senate and House of Representatives, which provides the increased expenditures for Ukraine’s support, Embassy of Ukraine in the USA reports in Facebook.
“The total volume of aid to Ukraine was USD 620.7 million that exceeds the respective last year indicator”, according to message.
“According to Pentagon’s draft law, USD 200 million are allocated for providing the military technical aid to Ukraine that is by USD 50 million more the appropriation of 2017”, the department emphasizes.
“These funds will be aimed at financing concrete projects of U.S. support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular, such as military training, military equipment and ammunition, lethal weapon, other equipment and military services, logistic support”.
The list of types of aid also includes the intelligence support of armed forces and security of our state, the diplomats note.
The estimate of aid to Ukraine from U.S. Department of State and associated agencies is $420.7 mln – it is by $10 mln more than the last year’s expenditure.
The funding was aimed at strengthening the support of Ukraine security under the program “International Military Funding”.
“Before entry into force, the Consolidated Appropriation Act for 218 should be approved by the Senate and House of Representatives and signed by U.S. President”, the embassy informed.
