Jointly with U.S. car producer Ford, Alibaba commissioned a huge vending machine, Finance.ua reports quoting The Verge.
The vending machine for car sale appeared in Guangzhou (China). It allows choosing any desired car for sale and test-drive by using the smartphone application.
The full automatic vending machine, called Super Test-Drive Center, is functioning without personnel. It gives cars of U.S. manufacture for a three-day test-drive. However, only citizens, whose social ranking is higher than 700, can use this service free of charge. This number is the total credit history as well as the unique index of law abidance and success.
One can rent car through Tmall application. The user chooses the interesting model, makes the electronic deposit, chooses convenient time for delivery and makes selfie in order to sign in during delivery.
Those, whose ranking did not reach 700, will also have to pay commission. Its amount is not specified. It should be noted that the starting ranking is 550 points – it is accrued, while the user does not have the transactions, registered in the system. Subsequently, it can change.
The declared car delivery rate in Super Test-Drive Center after signing-in is 10 minutes. It is also reported that in future, Alibaba intends to build the whole chain of such “kiosks” as well as provide an option of quick sale. The Chinese will have to make deposit of just 10% of the car price, then he may use special financing options.
