Gina Haspel became the acting Director of the CIA after Mike Pompeo assumed office of U.S. Secretary of State.
Deputy Director of U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Gina Haspel became the acting director of the agency after its former director Mike Pompeo was approved for the post of U.S. Secretary of State, CIA press office reports, Correspondent.net writes.
“For me, it is a great honor to become CIA Director at this critical moment. For the time of transitional period, I asked CIA employees to stay focused on our vital mission and do everything for providing intelligence data to our politicians so that America remains strong and protected”, Haspel claimed.
