The document envisages the allocation of 250 million dollars to Ukraine for enhancing security.

On Monday, August 13, U.S. President Donald Trump signed the defense budget of the country for 2019, amounting to USD 717 billion, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

The ceremony was held on the military reservation Fort Drum (New York State).

It should be reminded that previously, U.S. Senate endorsed the draft defense budget for 2019 FY.

U.S. mass media noted that the draft budget, in particular, includes the allocation of funds for countering Russia’s influence.

It also envisages the suspension of delivery of F-35 fighters-bombers to Turkey until the moment, when Pentagon provides the report on Ankara’s procurement of Russian anti-aircraft missile units C-400.

In addition, the U.S. defense budget for 2019 sanctions the allocation of 250 million dollars to Pentagon for providing assistance to Ukraine in security. Out of them, 50 million dollars should be targeted at the lethal arms.

The document includes the main provisions of the draft law on cooperation with Ukraine on cybersecurity, which, in particular, provides assistance to Kyiv in strengthening capabilities of protection from cyberattacks, reducing dependency from Russian information and communication technologies, promoting participation in the information exchange programs.

It also corroborates Washington’s commitment to the Charter on Strategic Partnership between Ukraine and U.S., the Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances, the support of NATO-Ukraine cooperation of Ukraine.

It should be reminded that the amount of assistance to Kyiv was 350 million dollars in U.S. military budget as of 2018.
