The task force has been created
The Ministry of Justice along with the representatives of lawyers’ association has formed the task force that will prepare updates to the new enactment On Advocacy. The group is led by Nikolai Syry, Senior Scientific Assistant at Koretsky Institute of State and Law at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ministry of Justice’s statement says.
According to Minister for Justice Pavel Petrenko, the document should be drafted within a short amount of time – approximately one month.
Deputy Chair of the National Bar Association of Ukraine Valentin Gvozdiy shared his view and presented a few proposals to be taken into account while preparing a draft law on advocacy. In his opinion, essential changes should be entered to some regulations. «This is particular so with the new Tax Code that requires some measure of detailing; especially when it concerns the simplified system of taxation applied to lawyers. The codes of judicial practice will undergo changes, as well. For example, communication of a prosecutor with a judge without the knowledge of a lawyer should be prohibited», - the lawyer noted.
Moreover, according to Mr.Gvozdiy, an issue of providing financing free help and legal advice should be tackled, too.
