The Interpol’s Ukrainian Bureau did not receive any official denial.
Head of Intepol’s Ukrainian Bureau Vasylii Nevolya claimed that the information about Interpol’s denial to put the people’s deputy Alexander Onyshchenko on the wanted list was not received, he reported to 112 Ukraine.
“The information about any decision, taken by Interpol’s Commission for the Control of Files on this case was not officially received. Probably, some decision is already taken. We did not officially receive anything”, Nevolya reported.
The Head of Ukrainian Bureau also explained on which conditions Interpol can block a wanted notice.
“Regarding Onyshchenko’s case, his case is being considered by Interpol’s Commission for the Control of Files. It is an independent agency, created for consideration of the complaints of defendants in international wanted notice cases. This Commission considers the issue of compliance or incompliance of the process of putting on the international wanted list with the rules and charter of the organization. The main criteria for compliance is Articles 2 and 3, which stipulate the neutral status of organization and categorically ban the organization to interfere with cases, which have predominantly political, military, race and religious nature. If the Commission finds any incompliance with these rules, then it takes the decision to block the wanted notice”, he said.
It should be reminded that Onyshchenko’s Attorney claimed that Interpol denied searching for the fugitive deputy.
As it was reported, on August 8, Onyshchenko was put on the national wanted list. On October 19, NABU reported that within 30 days Interpol should report the decision on putting Onyshchenko on the international wanted list.
