The US, Canada’s and Hungary’s joint mission will make the observation flight over the territory of Russia on the Hungarian observation plane AN-26, the press-office of the Ministry of Defense of RF reports, quoting Chief of Nuclear Risk Reduction Center Sergei Ryzhkov, RNS reports.
The flight will be the part of implementation of the Treaty on Open Skies during October 17-21.
During the flight, the Russian specialists aboard the observation plane will control the strict observation of approved flight parameters and application of observation equipment, stipulated by the Treaty.
The observation plane AN-26 belongs to the planes, not intended for application of any weapon, the plane and the installed observation equipment (air photo cameras) underwent international certification, in which the Russian specialists participated, which excludes the application of technical media, not stipulated by the Treaty.
