The Russian gas monopolist Gazprom filed appeal to the court against the decision of Kyiv Economic Court on Collection of USD 6.5 billion to the benefit of Ukraine on the lawsuit of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, Correspondent.net reports.
The appeal from Gazprom was received on Thursday, December 15; however, the material have not still been submitted to the Court of Appeals, the Kyiv Economic Court official said.
As Correspondent.net reported, on December 9, Russia filed appeal against Ukraine’s gas fine.
Last week, the Kyiv Economic Court approved the decision on enforced collection of UAH 172 mln of fine and penalties from Russia’s Gazprom as per AMCU lawsuit.
The concern is punished for abusing monopoly position on transit market of natural gas through Ukrainian GTS.
Gazprom appealed against AMCU’s decision; however, the court of all instances, including the Supreme Court of Ukraine, denied dismissing appeal of the Russian company.
