The coins will be issued in honor of the Crimea’s annexation
The armourer’s workshop in Zlatoust (Cheliabinsk oblast in Russia) has begun to produce commemorative coins dedicated to the annexation of Crimea to Russia, RIA-Novosti (РИА-Новости) reports.
As has been told by an employee of the enterprise, the reverse of the coin will feature the outline of the Crimean peninsula, while the obverse will show the relief image of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. «We’ve asked for more clarification as regards the legitimacy of printing such an image – the response received is it has nothing to do with a criminal case, it is not prohibited», - he accentuated.
Moreover, after the Revolution 1917 Vladimir Lenin was the only country leader whose image was embossed on the coin.
